Mountain Pipes

In the mountains, a tree grows in a dance with the forces of nature, not pruned by hands. These same forces are at work on a briar burl before harvest. With the Mountain pipes, I’m exploring these natural lines and forms, taking extra time to get the absolute most out of the briar. These pipes are reserved for those on the List.

One is released each week.

Valley Pipes

In the valley, trees are pruned to a platonic form to maximize fruiting potential. Each tree species has its own prescribed shape. The Valley pipes are those that adhere to a more traditional pattern. A billiard is a perfect example: for 150 years the billiard has remained largely unchanged for a reason. We’ll change the trim package but the shape remains: it's a platonic, ideal form

These more classic and traditional shapes will include Danish freehand shapes, older English shapes, and everything in between

I release these pipes through select retailers and in person at shows, but you can inquire about what I have in stock here.
